I was diagnosed with pural plaques a couple of years ago. I was exposed to asbestos due to my father working as a lagger back in the sixties, he very often took me to work with him and used to come home covered in the dust on his clothes. My brother also has the condition and successfully claimed compensation. I lost my father in 2003 to asbestoetos and my mother to cancer in 2004. Ironic that my family was exposed to this stuff and all died of cancer. My exposure was not voluntary and feel it is unjust not to be able to claim compensation because the the system states my condition is not immediately life threatening although it could well develop into asbestotos in later year and I agree, coal worker and their families are claiming thousands of pounds in compensation.

I have been diagnosed with plural plaques, and I was subject to asbestos while working for the Central Electricity Generating Board. What really upsets me is members of the Coal Industry can claim thousands of pounds for what is know as white finger, but the power industry workers cannnot claim for more serious industrial diseases

i worked in scotland since 1942 and with for an english firm for 34years based in scotland .now medicaly proved i have plural plaques in lungs .would i come under scottish law now being passed
